Types of Divination

Home > Our Readers > Types of Divination

If your not sure what type of reader you would like to speak to or what each ability means, we have provided a basic glossary on the different types of divination or ability many of our readers have or use.

Clairvoyant:

‘Clear Seeing’, to see or perceive things that is not in sight

Clairaudient:

‘Clear Hearing’, to hear things that is not audible.

Clairsentient/Empathic:

‘Clear Feeling’ to feel things others cannot

Medium:

The ability to make contact with spirit.

Psychic:

To ‘know’ information from using your intuition

Cartomancer:

Using a deck of cards for readings, can be tarot, angel cards, oracle cards or even ordinary playing cards.

Tools that Readers may use to focus on during their readings:

A reader may be a clairvoyant, medium or psychic but many of them may use what is known as a platform or a tool to help them ‘visually’ interpret the messages they are given. Readers who do not use ‘tools’ are sometimes called ‘natural’ or ‘pure’ mediums, psychics & clairvoyants.

Angel Cards (Cartomancy):

Similar to Tarot but with a softer, more feminine & spiritual approach. Images based on Arch Angels and the meaning that each Arch Angel signifies.

Crystals & Semi Precious Stones:

A client may be asked to choose a number of stones from a selection. Each stone represents a solution or answer to a question or situation. Often used for spiritual wellbeing, physical and mental health issues.

Crystal Ball:

Generally made of crystal but some use ‘glass’. Used for a form of scrying (allowing your eyes to relax and dream into the ball).

Pendulum:

Can be a piece of crystal, stone or metal attached to the end of a chain or even string. The pendulum can be various shapes but generally round or triangular  and usually has a pointed end at the bottom. A question is normally asked and unconscious movements from the muscles move the pendulum to give an answer.

Tarot (Cartomancy):

Often a very misjudged tool of divination. The tarot represents most of the influences that someone is likely to experience during their lifetime. Extremely good tarot readers are rare. It can take many years, to read the tarot well but once you find a very good tarot reader, it is in our opinion one of the best types of readings you can get.
